Giorgios Chiello has scored four goals in the World Cup so far, making him the best scorer in Italy’s squad so far.
He says his team are better than his own.
“We’re more talented than anyone expected, we have more speed and agility than any team I’ve played with,” the former Italy international said on Radio La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The goal is to win a trophy, to win the World Trophy, to be part of the final and to be a player in the history of this sport.”
There’s no better feeling than when you score your first goal.
I know this is a bit premature, but I’m really happy to have scored the first.
“Chiello’s goal came in the first half as Italy made their way to a 2-0 win over Spain.
He was part of Italy’s side that won the 1994 World Cup and helped them win a quarter-final against France in 2003.
He joined Juventus in 2012 and scored three goals in 15 games in Serie A before he joined Lazio last year.
He scored four in five appearances for Lazio in the 2016-17 season.
