Israel’s largest job search website has shut down amid a government effort to recruit more Israelis.
The online portal Zavotra, which offers job vacancies in the tourism sector, was unavailable on Thursday evening.
It was the last time anyone had access to the site, according to a spokesperson for Israel’s Ministry of Tourism.
The portal is a joint venture of the Tourism Ministry and the Israeli Tourism Administration.
The ministry said that Zavodra was shut down as part of a new effort to boost tourism in the country.
The ministry is hoping that its new tourism coordinator, Zalman Kagan, can attract a large number of Israelis to apply to work in Israel.
The new tourism office will aim to recruit over 1,000 jobs in the hospitality, tourism, construction, and food sectors, according an official statement.
Zavotreva was started in 2015 and has been the site of a major hiring drive since.
In February, the site announced it would begin a hiring drive for workers in the food and hospitality sectors.
Zakaria Kagan-Lizar, the director of Zavotonra, said that the ministry has set up a new recruitment office, with the aim of recruiting 2,500 people to work at the site by the end of 2019.
The department is hiring for a range of positions, from restaurant owners to catering staff, Kagan said.
Kagan-Sarach, who is also the director general of the tourism administration, said the ministry was looking for about 2,000 people who are willing to move to Israel.
Israel has one of the largest tourism industry in the world, accounting for about two-thirds of its GDP.
It has a population of about 4 million, according the Ministry of Interior.
